Frugally Honest

I want to join this: Mondo Beyondo and/or Dream Big. {Read: I want to live with creative purpose and its residual happiness.}

But dropping $100? I am saving for a big trip out west.** Then Emily whacks me on the head with her steam shovel of logic. Spending extra money doesn't bring you happiness. Though the positivity and love the women who run Mondo transmit could be very helpful, right now the hole from spending that much money would be much more painful.

In honor of frugality, I present to you elderberries:

Call me ignorant, I feel like I know a little more about healthy eating than the average Jenny, but I'd never thought about elderberries and their benefits until hippie camp. Then I became obsessed determined to have some in my yard. Ours are still small and they didn't bloom this year, but there are a few small trees near our house and the earliest of the berries are ripe.

Yesterday evening I dragged the family over for a quick harvest session. Several cups of the BB sized juicy berries now sit in our fridge, as I decide which tincture/elixir recipe to follow. Ahh, elderberries. You have any elderberry stories to tell?

**{For anyone paying attention, it's time to clean out the ol' print drawers, so if you're interested in something I don't have for sale anymore, I just might have one I'm willing to part with for next to nothin'.}

I think I've posted this quote before?

Peace, it does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.~unknown~

I have some bits of fabric I need to pull out of an elderberry dye today...will let you know how it goes (the berries came from next door, but we have an elderberry tree at home in Oz too).

Yo, thanks for the shout-out! I am so excited to be a steam shovel. Dude, I spent $134 today on totally unexpected car repairs. So that helped kill my lame desire to upgrade the dining room light fixture. And yet ... now I have a sudden desire to buy elderberries.
