Digging Deep - Quiet Days

If you look closely enough at this picture, it will tell you several things about me:

the unkempt cuticles,
the dirt under the nails (no gardening gloves),
the tiny carrots. . . because I'm too impatient for them to get any bigger before pulling them up, wiping them off and munching down.

These are the brief moments when worry, vanity, and the rat race slip away.

I bet those baby carrots taste very sweet. My hands are cracked and stained with dirt. No matter how much I scrub them with a brush, the dirt doesn't come out. I guess I should wear it with gardener's pride. Looks awful though.
