We've redone one bathroom in the house and there's another one that is halfway there, but needs some TLC. Since starting the floors in the den (and starting the childbirth class), Hi-C has become a little more wary of my movements and actions and has gently but firmly requested I not help with that project anymore. Needless to say, it's left me searching for other tasks that are less intense but equally satisfying: enter the mundane, plain white other upstairs bathroom. This is the one we don't use for hygiene, but we do use for messy studio projects, mixing film developer and whatever else leads to lots of bottles and paintbrushes covering the entire counter top.
Here's what is already in place: White ceramic 2 x 2" mosaic floor tile. 4 x 4" tiles on the walls all the way around the room, about 4' up the wall. Curtains I made from a tea towel not too long ago, and a natural linen shower curtain (the one shown here is from Gaiam, mine is from World Market). All the facilities are white, with a white cabinet under the sink. Lots of white! LOTS.
Aside from just a little scrubbing to sparkly shine (but no major, crazy renovations), I'm going to hang one of the new old wallpapers in there, add a tray/caddy in the bath ($28), and the cute just-vintage-enough embroidered deer rug from Urban Outfitters ($18). There is art all over the walls right now (here you can have the teeniest of peeks), so I'll figure out what stays and goes and do a little more decluttering! Yay for purging!
Wish us luck (C with the floors, me with the wallpaper) and I'll see you back here on Monday. And, of course, you're always welcome to stop by and say hi on Modish later today!
