Oops! Sorry for the little vacation I took--M stays with her cousins while I work and one of those cousins came down with walking pneumonia! Needless to say, we decided to keep then apart until all the germs were gone, which meant I had a few extra days off to hang out with my little one.
She's at a very curious age (which is pretty much all of childhood, right?) so we had a lot of one on one time, no sneaking off to write blog posts. But I could sew (hand stitch) while she played by herself and colored, so I started and finished a quick little dress from the book Carefree Clothes for Girls. There are some links to patterns at the bottom of the page, and although the patterns don't have written instructions, they're easy enough to figure out.
The fabric was given to me when a friend destashed her craft supplies and the buttons were also in the destash. The bias tape was some I found in a thrift store a couple years ago and it was 10 cents or something like that. I stocked up and was *just* about to add it to the pile of things to get rid of.
I think I unknowingly bought it years ago for this very dress. It's perfect for it if you ask me!
Well, I'm still home today and the little one is asleep, but she'll wake up soon which means I better get off the computer and go inhale some coffee. Happy Monday!
