We've started painting the navy walls (yep, now the big one and a little one that juts out from it), but the paint is a semi-gloss. The guy at Lowes said he couldn't do a color that dark in eggshell or flat. The bad thing about that is that every ding and minor repair in the plaster shows up and it looks baaaaad. Of course, I'm not a fan of glossy walls to begin with.
The color is pretty, though, so I'm just gonna have to hunt down someone that can tint a darker color in a flatter matte finish (eggshell! eggshell! eggshell!) In an effort to avoid napping my days away, and to take advantage of my increased level of energy, I've been finishing up little jobs around the house--like (finally) making the fabric I had up on the windows into real curtains. . .with liners! Make fun of me all you want, but I'm proud of myself. I'm not proud, however, of the crappy photos that show off my handiwork.

*This blog is entrancing. I love the photos with little line drawings on top of them. The colors are beautiful, the lines so delicate, calming.
*Stylish Stephanie Congdon Barnes and Main Squeeze Jack started a blog back in February to capture the renovation of their Portland home. I'm a little late to the party, but it is truly chock ful'o' inspiration.
*Lego Guggenheim anyone? Dare I say there's nothing more perfect for my own pops for Father's day. . . architecture + time spent together figuring out the puzzle.

Hi!!!
I'm catching up on your blog : )
For paint, maybe try Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore - they'll know much more about paint and use more colorant, also, ask about primer for the dark colors. They work with interior designers and take paint seriously, at the big box stores your kindof on your own. But an eggshell dark should totally be doable!

Those shoes and that rabbit...oh my! How to resist the urge!? BTW, our little kicky is a girl too. Hooray for girls! xo, Abbey
Little Flower: Yeah, I knew I should've gone to Sherwin Williams--they have a really affordable low-VOC option that I've used before and loved. Maybe that'll happen this weekend. . .Then I can start really decorating the nursery with super cute, colorful and graphic ceramics! ;)
Abbey--Hooray for girls is right! Good luck with the move. . .and resisting all the cute little options for little ones out there. That crocheted hat on your blog is also ADORABLE!
